Reason: The system processes student educational records and produces assessments that may inform educational decisions.

Section 3How Student Data Is Used

  • Student writing samples are submitted by teachers for evaluation.
  • Before transmission to the AI, personally identifiable information (names, phone numbers, email addresses, SSNs) is automatically redacted.
  • The AI receives only the redacted writing text and rubric criteria.
  • Anthropic's Zero-Data-Retention policy ensures no student data is stored by the AI provider after processing.

  • AI-generated scores are formative assessment tools, not summative grades.
